She is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
She also holds a joint appointment with Argonne National Laboratory.
From 2002 to 2023, she was a tenured Professor of Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2002 (Thesis Advisor: Valerie Taylor).
She co-leads the SPEAR Team with Professor Mike Papka.
SPEAR is part of the UIC EVL lab.
